Mystic Bore

I take a seat alone at one of the many empty booths at the Mystic Grill, always the loner of the town. Sighing to myself, I glance around to see if I can spot anything interesting. Since I've gotten fired, I've noticed the boss always threw me dirty looks, which I returned with no hesitation. Who seriously needed to work? It was boring and I had better things to do with my life right now. As I think that though, a bitter laugh escapes my lips. I get weird glances from the people around me, probably wondering why I'm laughing to myself, but I ignore them. That's nothing new.

I sigh as I walk into Mystic Grill with my brothers Klaus and Elijah. I'm barely payin attention to their conversation as they talk about Elena. It's all they ever seem to talk about now that Klaus wants to make his stupid hybrid army. I look around the grill to see if I could find someone alone to sit with, then I smile and notice Elena's brother Jeremy sitting alone. I walk over and take a seat nex to him, turning my head to look at him. "Hello Jeremy. Having a good day?"

It just as I pass the bustling entrance of the "Mystic Grill" when I hear a name that I think I recognise. Jeremy--no doubt the Jeremy Gilbert I've been looking for, the orphan. It's sad really, but it makes this first communication a whole lot easier if there's no one to recognise me from the old photographs which I doubt he has seen.

I enter the restaurant following closely behind a couple of teenagers who don't notice, even when I give a little squeak at the sight of practically the whole original bluddy family. I feel that I should duck out quickly before they spot me and what I am through the crowd of humans.

This is not good.

I walk into Mystic Grill and see a girl looking scared as she sneaks in othe crowd of humans. I walk over to her and tap her on the shoulder. "Are you okay?" I ask her as I extend my hand out for her to shake. "I'm Shannon, but you can call me Shay or Lee if you want."

[Suzanna Gilbert]

I jump, I can't help it, at the soft touch on my shoulder. There is a split second where I decide whether biting whoever touched me would be worth the attention it would draw. I turn and give a little squeak of surprise at the sight of a vampire I do not know casually stretching a hand out to shake mine. Should I take it? Do I dare? I have no answers.

"I am fine... thank you... Shay," I say a bit stiffly, my hand going to hers by the degree.

I shake her hand and look towards my brothers Klaus and Elijah. I also notice my half sister Rebekah sitting next to Jeremy. I look back over at you, noticing your still very tense. "Why are you so scared? What's your name?"

[Suzanna Gilbert]

"I mean to make no trouble!" I say in a rush, trying to remember what my name is. Of all the times to have a blank moment, I think in despair. The power that I can sense from each of them is unlike anything I've felt before, and when I look at them as a collective power it is overwhelming. Stories have been told about the existence of the Originals, but I thought that it was just that--a story. But it seems not.

Shannon looks at me with concern, but behind her I see the men giving me a contemptuous side-ways look, barely acknowledging my existence.

"I'm sorry." I say to Shannon, not able to look her in the eye for fear that I might do something else equally dimwitted.[i]

I look over to where I see you looking. I frown and turn my head back as I realize that you seem to be afraid of my brothers. "Did Elijah or Klaus do anything to you? If they did I'll take care of the problem for you." I say as I smile at you. "After all that is what I'm here for if you ever need any help."

[Suzanna Gilbert]

"No of course not!" I exclaim, too weary of them to say anything else. I never wanted to start something by coming into the Mystic Grill, but the tight feeling in my chest seems to suggest that I might have anyway. "No..." I tried to be more polite, "I'm just no good around guys..."

I ate my last two boyfriends

I glance once again their way, noticing too late that both were fixated on me. I hate making eye contact with anyone these days and their eyes were utterly entrancing. Klaus's strong jaw and wicked grin are what catch my eye.

I sigh tiredly as Rebekah sits down at the same table as me, not quite in the mood to deal with her. I decided to just be nice though, not really in the mood to get my head ripped off, especially considering the other Originals are around. "Rebekah, what's up?"

"Nothing much, just need to get away from my brothers for a while." I say as I look over to Elijah and Klaus. I noticed them looking over 2 girls. My jaw drops in shock as I notice one the girls looks absolutely like me. I focus my ears to hear the conversation and hear the girl offering help to that girl. I get annoyed and get up from my seat and storm off towards them. "What do you think your doing? Why do you even look exactly like me?" I say to Shannon.
"Because you are my half twin sister. I'm not really sure how that tuned out, but I'm Klaus full blooded sister. I've lived with my father after my mother Esther decided to keep Klaus instead of me. I'm a werewolf and I'm assuming your a vampire? I mean you couldn't live all those years, you would have been dead long ago."

[Suzanna Gilbert]

I catch the blonde vampire's eye and crook a finger for him to come over. There is a moment of indecision (Should he trust that I won't try to stake him?), I see it in his eyes, but once I let him know I'm interested for totally innocent, or as innocent as my intentions ever are, reasons he wastes no time in coming over. I love the way he moves--that's all I can think. Behind him, Elijah raises an inquisitive eyebrow in question, though thankfully he doesn't say a word. I catch Rebekah's eye and hold it with my own until the chair across from me is pulled out and Klaus sits down.

"Are you new in this town?" he asks, sounding neither overly friendly or openly hostile--just interested

I wonder which answer would be the lie. "Just arrived." I tell him, leaving out that I have was lived here, back when I was alive.

Shannon sighed as she grabbed Klaus and dragged him away apologizing to you. "I'm sorry about my brother, but if you ever need help with anything let me know." She said smiling at you as she left the grill with Klaus. Rebekah stares confused after Shannon as she left and shook her head, then turned back around and started to walk over and sit back down next to Jeremy.

I find myself reaching out for him, which is crazy, something I would never do if I was thinking straight.

"Sorry," I say, ducking my head low, "didn't mean to..." My heart is in my throat as something primal, the instincts of survival, awakens inside of me. I want to get out of here as soon as possible but I am numb from my head to my toes.

I step back but a hand wraps tightly around my wrist.
